1 Warnings and Safety information
The navigation system helps you find your way to your destination with the built-in GPS
receiver. ALPHA-NAV does not transmit your GPS position; others cannot track you. If
you accept it when first using the application, ALPHA-NAV collects usage information
and GPS logs that may be used for improving the application and the quality and cov-
erage of maps. The data is processed anonymously; no one will be able to track any
personal information. If you change your mind later, you can enable or disable the log
collection in Settings (page 90).
It is important that you look at the display only when it is safe to do so. If you are the
driver of the vehicle, we recommend that you operate ALPHA-NAV before you start your
journey. Plan the route before your departure and stop if you need to change the route.
You must obey the traffic signs and follow the road geometry. If you deviate from the
recommended route, ALPHA-NAV changes the instructions accordingly.
Navigation Audio Options
You can still listen to an audio program while using Navigation. To do so, do the
following:
Select the audio source. The source can be the Radio, iPod, CD/DVD audio or
the audio from either the AUX1 or AUX2 input.
Touch the NAVI button on the front panel to select Navigation. The map will be
shown on the TFT display, and audio will continue to play while you are in the
Navigation mode.
Navigation voice prompts will mute the audio source (except the iPod audio on
the AN5650NV), give the instruction, and then return to the audio source
To adjust a parameter of the audio source while in the navigation mode, (i.e.,
select a different radio station),use your remote control to change radio
stations, fast forward/fast back on CD or iPod audio, or advance from song to
song. See remote control functions in your Alpha-Nav User Manual.
